Katie Fitzpatrick-Barr
BAppSc(SpPath), GradCert(HR&OrgDev), CPSP

 

Katie is a highly experienced Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist. She has worked in a wide range of roles as a senior clinician, including rehabilitation, acute hospitals, aged care, disability, community health, preschools, schools and community based  positions in Sydney and the Hunter. Having worked with caseloads across the lifespan, she has specialist skills in practice education and supervision. Katie is passionate about supporting the professional and personal growth of both undergraduates and speech pathologists, with a focus on the development of confidence, competence and enjoyment of the profession.

Katie is a professional practice educator, with an extensive career in the education, training and supervision of speech pathologists. Her experience as Clinical Education Manager and Lecturer in the Bachelor of Speech Pathology Program (University of Newcastle) and the Masters of Speech Pathology Program (Macquarie University), along with her many practice education roles, have allowed Katie to develop expertise in practice education, supervision and the development and delivery of learning programs. This expertise in supporting the clinical and career development of speech pathologists has been enhanced by her completion of a Graduate Certificate in Human Resources and Organisational Development (Training and Development), further informing her understanding of the role and practice of professional development in the organisational context. Katie has also completed Certificate 4 studies in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management.

Working and living with her family in the Lower Hunter Valley region, Katie continues to be committed to bringing excellent clinical services to clients and engaging with her colleagues in high quality professional support and supervision. 

​
