Clinical Services

Services in the Clinic or Your Home

Speak Naturally Speech Pathology Services are focussed on the individual communication and swallowing concerns of each person. We work with people, their families, care providers and any professionals involved, to develop personalised assessment, therapies and programs. This support is informed by evidence-based practices and consideration of the wholistic health and wellbeing needs of each person.

Difficulties might be related to illness, stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, dementia, developmental conditions, mental well being and other health conditions effecting the brain, nervous system, breathing or vocal cords. Sometimes issues arise without any known cause, and a speech pathology assessment can help with determining the nature of the problems being experienced. Once assessed, therapy can assist with the specific swallowing, speech, language, voice and social communication concerns of the individual.

In Maitland, speech pathology sessions are offered at the Speak Naturally clinic in Morpeth. For people having difficulty leaving the home, including those receiving palliative care services, a home visit may be arranged within the Maitland local government area (and possibly somewhat outside of this area, by special arrangement). In the Forster and Taree region, mobile speech pathology services are provided, with Katie visiting people in their home.
